How To Make Crepe Parcels

Forget the Tortilla Wrap Hack, these Crepe Parcels are such a fun and easy snack that takes a twist on, and brings a new light to something that’s been relatively unchanged for years. Whether it’s for breakfast, kids lunches or for finger food/canapés for a party, you have to give them a try!

Can I Make This With Something Other Than Crepes?

I haven’t tried this with anything other than crepes, but I feel like it would be cool with rice paper to do something a little bit different from the stock standard rice paper rolls. They might be a little bit fiddly to fold, but try it out if you’d like!

I wouldn’t use anything thick like wraps or tortillas for this though. Because of the amount of folds required to make these, the tortillas might rip. Plus, there will just be too much bread to the amount of filling. But again, if you want to try it out, go for it.

How Should You Serve Them?

When I first made these, I had leftover crepes from breakfast the day before that I thought I would repurpose the next morning.

They’re perfect as a different way of eating crepes for breakfast, but here are a few other ways you could serve these Crepe Parcels:

  • Kids’ Lunches – filled with veggies, meats and  spreads like hummus, or with fruit and yoghurt for a sweet option, these would be perfect for a fun lunchbox filler.
  • Canapés for a Party – fill them with smoked salmon and cream cheese, goats cheese and cranberry sauce, chicken salad, or avocado, corn and prawn. Basically anything you’d top a blini with can go inside your crepe parcel.
  • Faux Dumplings – make faux dumplings, samosas or filo pastries for dinner by filling these with spiced mince mixtures, vegetable fillings or pastes made of feta and spinach. Just remember that they aren’t being cooked so any fillings you use can’t be raw.
  • DIY Dessert Bar – an idea I thought would be really fun with these, is to lay out a bunch of ingredients and let people mix and match to make their own creations. Some fillings you could try are chopped fruits, yoghurt, whipped cream, ice cream, chopped or melted chocolate, nuts or nut butters, caramel etc… the options are endless.
  • Breakfast – by all means you could do a DIY breakfast bar with these as well. You could serve different savoury ingredients like scrambled eggs, chopped bacon, spinach, tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, different cheeses etc and let people create their own crepe parcels. Or you could just serve an array that have been pre-made at the table instead.
