Method
- Fill a bowl with ice cold water and bring a pot of water to the boil.
- Lower your egg straight from the fridge into the boiling water. Set your timer immediately to your desired doneness. (See note for timings)
- As soon as the timer goes off, remove the egg, plunge it in the icy water and leave it for about a minute to completely stop the cooking process.
- Give the egg a gentle tap all around and begin peeling off the shell. Be extra careful if your egg is on the softer-cooked side (6 minutes and under).
- Once it's peeled, give it a rinse to remove any remaining fragments of shell and enjoy.
