4 Ingredient White Chocolate & Oreo Fudge

This Condensed Milk Oreo Fudge recipe is so insanely easy to make and I’m not exaggerating when I say it takes less than 5 minutes to make. It’s perfect to whip up for a last minute dessert if you have people coming over or just because you’re craving something sweet. To be honest, I don’t know why people still make fudge the traditional way when this method exists because it tastes just as good and can be made in a quarter of the time.

How is This 5 Minute Fudge Different From Regular Fudge?

Well, for starters, this condensed milk fudge only requires 2 main ingredients and can be made in a matter of minutes (hence the name). On the other hand, traditional fudge requires a minimum of 5 ingredients, plus a very fiddly and long procedure. With traditional fudge, you need to bring sugar and butter to a certain temperature over a stove and mix until it cools. It’s prone to splitting, crystallising, becoming gritty, or not setting, and what’s more is that even the weather can have an impact on the end result. No thanks!

This recipe bypasses all of that trouble by using condensed milk instead of the sugar, butter and cream. All that is required is for you to melt it in the microwave with some chocolate, mix it together and set it in the fridge. That’s it… No thermometer, no constant stirring and no risk of complications.

What are the 4 Ingredients in This Recipe?

The 4 ingredients needed to make this Oreo Fudge are:

  • White Chocolate
  • Condensed Milk
  • Oreos
  • Rice Bubbles
  • (and Salt… but I don’t count is as an ingredient)

This recipe is super versatile and can be made with just the chocolate and condensed milk, but I’ve added the Oreos for flavour and the Rice Bubbles for a little bit of lightness and texture.

Why is the Salt so Important?

The reason salt is such an important ingredient in this white chocolate and Oreo fudge recipe is because of the high sugar content in the condensed milk and white chocolate. Without the salt, the fudge could potentially be overwhelmingly sweet. Plus, the salt gives it a nice sweet and salty flavour which I love.

How do you make 4 Ingredient Oreo Fudge?

I touched on it before, but all you need to make this easy condensed milk Oreo Fudge is chocolate chips and condensed milk, which if you’re like me, you already have them in your pantry.

All you have to do is melt your chocolate and condensed milk together in the microwave for a minute or 2.

Then, you’ll quickly add in your rice bubbles and Oreos, stir, and pour it into a prepared dish before setting in the fridge for a couple of hours. That’s all there is to it!

Can I Make This Fudge Recipe if I Don’t Have a Microwave?

That’s fine, you can still make this 5 minute fudge without a microwave. Instead, you can use a double boiler by setting a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water and melt your chocolate and condensed milk that way. It will take slightly longer to make but still incredibly easy.

How Long Does This Oreo Fudge Last?

This fudge will last perfectly for around 2 weeks in the fridge. Just make sure you store it in an air tight container.

Variations

Because this fudge recipe is virtually foolproof, you can pretty much do whatever you want with it. You can swap out the white chocolate for either milk or dark or add a bunch of different mix ins. Here are some ideas:

Spices – try adding sweet spices like cinnamon, vanilla, cardamon or fennel once you’ve melted your chocolate.

Nuts – use any chopped nuts you like such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, peanuts, macadamias, etc.

Nut Butter – either swirl 2 tablespoons of your favourite nut butter through the fudge at the end or replace it in the mix by reducing the condensed milk by 2 tablespoons.

Jams – do the same as with the nut butters and either swirl it through for a ripple effect, or reduce the amount of condensed milk by the amount of jam you add.

Sauces – try swirling or rippling sauces like lemon curd or caramel through the fudge before setting it in the fridge to firm up.

Biscuits and Confectionary – try chopped up Oreos, Tim Tams, Kit Kats, etc. The options on this one are virtually endless so do whatever you like.

Other options – shredded coconut, freeze dried, candied or dried fruits, lemon or orange zest.

Adjustments

If you’re looking for a slightly different texture, either increase or decrease the amount of condensed milk to make it firmer or softer.

  • 2 tbsp less condensed milk for firmer fudge.
  • 2 tbsp more condensed milk for a softer fudge.

If your fudge is too soft after setting in the fridge and you haven’t added any mix ins, you can melt it back down with some extra chocolate then re-refrigerate it.

I would recommend making it the first time this way because different brands of chocolate chips have different quantities of fat and solids. The varying proportions of these can make your fudge either softer or firmer than mine, even if you use the same measurements. So, it might be a good idea to test it out first without any mix ins and make adjustments if needs be.
